International Day of Women and Girls in Science, where do Barriers Remain?
International Day of Women and Girls in Science is observed on 11 February following a United Nations resolution aimed at promoting equal access and participation in STEM.
The day exists because progress, while real, remains uneven.
Many barriers faced by women and girls in science are structural rather than individual. These include limited flexibility, unconscious bias, and systems that fail to account for health and caring responsibilities.
Science advances through evidence and problem solving. The same approach can be applied to inclusion.
Content and insights shared at My Patient Advice highlight how access and system design directly affect long-term outcomes.
Raising awareness is a starting point. Meaningful change depends on what follows.
Share this post if it helps prompt a more honest conversation about inclusion in science.
