Can You Feel A Pacemaker After It Is Implanted?

It is common to feel a pacemaker after it has been implanted. The device is placed just beneath the skin, usually near the collarbone, which means it can often be felt as a small, firm shape. 

The level of visibility and sensation varies depending on body type. Individuals with less tissue in the chest area may notice the outline more clearly, while others may find it less noticeable. 

In the early stages after surgery, the area may feel tight or slightly raised. This is part of the normal healing process. 

Over time, the body forms a layer of tissue around the device, allowing it to settle into place and feel more natural. 

Overall, this sensation is expected and tends to become less noticeable as recovery progresses.
